The Distance Between

The work begins with miniature stage sets built from childhood memory — the early years of immigration reconstructed not as they were, but as they felt. Lit and photographed, these maquettes are printed at a monumental scale, transforming intimate handmade objects into immersive spaces.

Through this shift — small to large, physical to photographic, memory to imagination — the work explores how we experience space across different scales and dimensions. The stage set becomes a place for dreaming: a space where the past can be revisited, redrawn, and mythologized.
