The Distance Between

The Distance Between is an ongoing project exploring how memory works. I begin with miniature stages. The constructions are based on childhood memories from the early years of my immigration to the United States. The sets are reconstructed not as they were, but as they felt. These maquettes are lit, photographed, and printed at a monumental scale, transforming intimate handmade objects into immersive spaces.

Through this shift — small to large, physical to photographic, memory to imagination — I explore how we experience space across different scales and dimensions. The stage set becomes a place for dreaming: a space where the past can be revisited, redrawn, and mythologized.
